So last weekend we actually had nice weather. It may be second nature to some of you having sun in summer but not if you live in Aberdeen. It couldn't have come at a better time as I had some friends up to visit who had heard all about our awful weather. We decided to make the most of it and head to the beach, we had such a fun day eating ice cream and running about in the sand. Here are some summery snaps.

POP!
So as I already mentioned I was working in Glasgow for a week and while I was there I met my friend Ashley for lunch and a catch up. We were both staying in the west end so we ended up in an amazing little cafe called Pop on Great Western Road. It not only looks great but we couldn't decide on what we wanted to eat so the waiter brought us a few things to try to help with our decision making. It was all so good that I'm not sure it actually made things easier! Unfortunately the weather was awful, it couldn't make up its mind between rain and gale force winds but I did somehow manage to catch a pretty impressive blue sky. Anyway I'm back down again this week for work so fingers crossed I get at least one nice day. Theres a beautiful park next to me that I'm just dying to have a picnic in!

Midi
Just a quick outfit post. I wore this skirt to work today, it may be my favourite purchase from the last few months, it's so easy to dress up or down. Not that great in the heat, but the weather is so unpredictable that you just have to go with it. I have been asked to work in Glasgow this week and I'm all excited about seeing my long lost friends! So many of them have moved here in the last few years so I'm really looking forward to catching up with them. I may even try to take some photos in the process...

Francesqa
Last night my friend Sarah and I went to see Francesqa at Cafe Drummonds. For those of you who have never been, Drummonds may well be the sweatiest room in Britain! Disgusting, I know. However it was also hot for another reason. Not only were the band great, the lead singer was pretty beautiful. I think that more than made up for all the sweaty bodies!
My friends Autumn In Disguise supported and as usual had all the teenage girls going crazy.
So glad I no longer feel the need to dress up to go to a gig and so decided to stick with a good old basic tee and converse. As you can see by the horrible pictures below no amount of hair spray/foundation would have stayed on!

Bargain-Bin Ballerina
I wore this bargain-tastic dress from the big P today. I'm never normally in Primark but my sister was home from London and we decided to go holiday shopping. Yes, I realise that I have just come back, however I'm a VERY lucky girl and have booked a week in Cyprus for my birthday in September. My packing left a lot to the imagination in Crete so I wanted to pick up a few things while the shops were still full of their great summer pieces. We went into Primark to find some cheap flip-flops and I stumbled across this little number. It was £15 and so comfy so I thought why not???

Shes So REEM
Friday night was my wonderful friend Kirstys leaving night. I am devastated that shes going home. Not only did I get to see her all the time at work, we managed to text our way through every episode of TOWIE and spend hours sitting in pubs chatting without running out of things to talk about. She is so effortlessly cool, has pins to die for and just so happens to be a smart cookie too! (Literally the perfect girl) I'll miss her so much. And to make matters worse this was the last photo taken of us together! Cringe. I look like a drunk, orange dwarf and shes barely facing the camera. However I'll cherish it because no matter what we are doing, even if it's a 8 hour shift at work, we always seem to have fun.
And my favourite photo of the night. Shes clearly upset to be going...
