Finally.

I finally have a new camera, it only took me 3 months! It was a touch on the expensive side so for a while I was having to talk myself into it, but its just so pretty that I couldn't not have it!

I have just come back from a week in Crete and I love that my skin is no longer the colour of blue chalk! Its such a beautiful island, and the fact that I stayed in a 5 star spa resort meant that I was seriously considering emigrating. I literally spent the week swimming in the sea, lounging by the pool and wandering around little Greek villages. And apart from an extended stay due to a certain ash cloud it was absolutely perfect.
We also squeezed in something a little educational so that we didn't feel like complete ignorant tourists. We went to see the island of Spinalonga which from 1903 to 1957 was used as a leper colony. It was the setting for the book The Island by Victoria Hislop, and is a beautiful, thought provoking place.

Here are some tourist snaps, and yes that is me strapped to parachute on the back of a speedboat!
